Done Deal: Barcelona Have Finally Signed Ousmane Dembele

Email
Barcelona have just announced that they have completed the signing of 20-year-old Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund.
Having seen Neymar leave the Catalonian club earlier this month, the higher-ups at the Camp Nou were determined to find a replacement before the end of the transfer window on August 31st. Having been linked with Dembele for weeks now, they have finally gotten the deal over the line.
La Blaugrana took to Twitter to announce the deal.

It’s not yet confirmed exactly how much Dortmund received for the player but earlier reports suggested it would be in the region of £140 million meaning he would become the second most expensive player in football history. It eclipses the £89.3 million fee that Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba last summer that at the time was a world record.
He’s very much a like for like replacement for Neymar with his goalscoring threat and endless creativity evidently appealing to Barca. Under Thomas Tuchel’s guidance at the Westfalenstadion last season, he notched six goals and twelve assists aged just 19.
Were it not for the incredible emergence of Kylian Mbappe would be much more recognised than he is. While the Champions League exploits of Mbappe are mightily impressive, Dembele possesses more than enough talent to suggest he’ll be a brilliant replacement for the world’s most expensive player.
